Nova Scotia’s Wild Blueberry

Every now and then, I get the sudden urge to bake. I imagine the smiles of those who will enjoy the treats, and with that thought in mind, I pour my heart into each creation.
Wild blueberries from Nova Scotia are known for their tiny size and intense sweetness. While the frozen kind is easy to find, it’s rare to come across fresh ones unless you head out to the countryside. So imagine my surprise when I spotted fresh wild blueberries at a nearby supermarket for the very first time.
Blueberry tarts, Gluten free sourdough blueberry bagels, and blueberry muffins. Sweet and delicate, with a gentle hint of rum. I wonder if it made a lovely birthday surprise.
