About us
Sam and Kazue came to Canada from Japan in 1998. We love the beauty of Nova Scotia and sharing it with our guests. We have a dock with kayaks visitors can enjoy on Lake William and, to encourage them to experience the serenity of the forest, a meditation and yoga platform in the woods of our backyard.
After emigrating to Canada, Sam worked for a travel agent until he found his true passion as a B&B operator. Before starting Burgundy Dream, he managed Between Friends B&B in Vancouver for ten years, learning to care for guests from around the world and to operate a successful business. Sam is an accomplished photographer, with an affinity for nature. In Vancouver, he also worked for a local newspaper as a sports photographer. When not attending to guests at Burgundy Dream, he enjoys cycling, badminton and boat racing.
Kazue is multifaceted. Trained as a home economist in Japan, she began her serious music studies after arriving in Canada. Her passion for music eventually led her to joining the Canadian Forces in 2002 as a flutist. She currently performs in the 36 Canadian Brigade Group Band, based in Halifax. Kazue is also a trained legal administrative assistant and worked for a major law firm in Vancouver for eight years before she and Sam moved to Nova Scotia. She enjoys yoga, triathlon, kayaking, baking, and meeting new friends.
Community of sub urban
Our community, Waverley is on the way from Halifax Stanfield International Airport to Halifax downtown. It is 15 minutes drive from airport to Burgundy Dream B&B and 20 minutes drive from Halifax down town. Conveniently close enough for both tourists and local people those who seeking an accommodation balanced with convenience and relaxation atmosphere.
