PEI Lieutenant Governor Installation

Prince Edward Island’s 43rd lieutenant-governor installed at ceremony on October 17. Three of us from 36 Canadian Brigade Band joined PEIR band and participated the ceremony with an honour guard at the Confederation Centre of the Arts in Charlottetown. It’s a four-hour drive to Prince Edward Island from Halifax. We arrived the day before and were ready to go bright and early in the morning. At 8 a.m., the temperature was a chilly 3 degrees. The weather was beautiful, but it was definitely cold! My fingers felt numb and tangled up. However, I was thrilled to perform with my old bandmates for the first time in six years. Canada may be vast, but the military musicians community is surprisingly small.
