Anne of Green Gables

Prince Edward Island is famous for Anne of Green Gables. I visited the birthplace of the author, L.M.Montgomery, and toured the museum and Heritage Place. There were Japanese-language guides and books translated into Japanese, indicating that there were many Japanese tourists. The woman who explained the museum to us asked us if we learn about Anne of Green Gables in school in Japan. She seemed to wonder why it was so popular among Japanese.
