Pumpkin Pudding

I made pumpkin pudding with a big pumpkin that I got from my neighbour. The pumpkin was delicious just steamed, but the pumpkin pudding is also delicious. The recipe is from one of the Japanese cooking magazine. 400g pumpkin, seeds and skin removed100g sugar (for caramel sauce)2 tablespoons water2 tablespoons water200 ml milk4 eggs100g sugar200ml […]

Meditation with friends

It is my favourite season of the year. Our backyard hill is painted brown, red, yellow by nature. I enjoy sitting on the yoga platform with my eyes closed listening to the birds singing and chipmunks running around. A bit of chillness gives me a fresh morning sensation. It is my favourite time of the […]

Happy Thanksgiving

I got another beautiful Japanese pumpkin from my neighbour’s father’s farm. This time, I baked a simple pumpkin pie using a premade pie crust. For the filling, simply mix steamed pumpkin (400g), cane sugar(60g), cream(50g), 2 eggs and butter (30g) in a chopper. After pre-cook pie sheet, pour the filling, decorate, then bake it for […]

McDonald Sports Park in Waverley

4 km from our place there is a sports park called McDonald Sports Park. You can enjoy walking, hiking, cycling, boating and ball sports all year round. In winter, if there is a suitable base of snow, the trails are good for Nordic Skiing or snowshoeing. This morning, Sam and I ran to the park […]

Riverbreeze Farm & Cornmaze

Riverbreeze Farm & Cornmaze is about 80km north from our place. We enjoyed walking through the Cornmaze and the wagon ride to pumpkin patch. If you walked all the way through the 12-acre cornfield maze and tracked it on the GPS, you would get a picture of a kangaroo family. I thought we spent an […]

Pumpkin Tart

My neighbour gave me a beautiful organic Japanese kabocha (green pumpkin). So, I made two pumpkin tarts with a topping of autumn cookies and gave one of them back them. Then, they gave me another pumpkin! I gave the other tart to another neighbour for his birthday, then he gave me some homemade can of […]

Pizza night

We received a pizza kit by donating our unwanted winter clothes at a fundraising event held by the real estate agency who helped us buying our Burgundy Dream house. The pizza dough looks great! I made half of it with salami and peppers, and half with tuna mayonnaise and asparagus.
