Snow morning

This morning, our backyard hill was covered with a light dusting of snow. There are still flakes of snow in the air.It is cold out there and very quiet. The animals in the forest seemed to be holed up in their dwellings and there was not a single footprint.

Oakfield Provincial Park

It’s about 15 minutes drive from Burgundy Dream B&B. Park has a picnic area, BBQ, beach access, and a hiking trail. A popular 4 km loop trail is an easy walking trail through wooded area. I’ve never seen shelf fungi on a birch like a tower apartment. A bald eagle was sitting on the top […]

Arrival of Winter

The fallen leaves on the yoga platform were frozen this morning. I couldn’t even brush them off, so I laid out my yoga mat on top of them and meditated for a while. My breath was white, and even the chipmunks didn’t come. The trees have lost their leaves and the view has become better. […]

Meditation with friends

It is my favourite season of the year. Our backyard hill is painted brown, red, yellow by nature. I enjoy sitting on the yoga platform with my eyes closed listening to the birds singing and chipmunks running around. A bit of chillness gives me a fresh morning sensation. It is my favourite time of the […]

Happy Thanksgiving

I got another beautiful Japanese pumpkin from my neighbour’s father’s farm. This time, I baked a simple pumpkin pie using a premade pie crust. For the filling, simply mix steamed pumpkin (400g), cane sugar(60g), cream(50g), 2 eggs and butter (30g) in a chopper. After pre-cook pie sheet, pour the filling, decorate, then bake it for […]

McDonald Sports Park in Waverley

4 km from our place there is a sports park called McDonald Sports Park. You can enjoy walking, hiking, cycling, boating and ball sports all year round. In winter, if there is a suitable base of snow, the trails are good for Nordic Skiing or snowshoeing. This morning, Sam and I ran to the park […]

Golden Forest

Our backyard hill is turning golden when sun is setting. The leaves are falling and cover the ground preparing for the winter.
