Lake Charles Trail

There are several lakes along Waverley Road, and next to Lake William where we live is Lake Charles. Lake Charles which is like Lake William, is a long narrow lake with a 13 km trail along the lake. The trail is well maintained, and gravel most of the way. It is an easy trail for […]

Thank you for your stay

It is always a pleasure to meet our guests. We enjoy hosting our guests and having a conversation over the breakfast. One of our guests sent us some lovely photos of our property. We are glad that they enjoyed our place.

Porters Lake Triathlon

Porters Lake is about a half hour from Burgundy Dream B&B. That rural area has such a gorgeous view. Triathlon Sprint distance was held at the West Porters Lake. I hadn’t been able to train for a month, but I set my goal to just complete. I couldn’t swim straight in the open water, I […]

Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo

The Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo is a show inspired by Military Tattoos given by military bands and civilian performers. It has taken place annually in Nova Scotia’s capital, Halifax since 1979, however the show had been cancelled last 2 years because of COVID-19 pandemic. This year, I have performed as a Canadian Forces military […]

Canada Day Parade

I participated in the Canada Day parade hosting by Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo. The performers of the Tattoo show marched in downtown Halifax. Then in the afternoon, we had the 7th day of the show. Sam came to watch and took lots of pictures.

Flowers in our yard

The blue sky was a pleasant change from yesterday’s rainstorm. The irises have started to bloom all at once. The same flowers bloom every year, but the longer winter makes the colourful flowers stand out even more. Tomatoes bloomed early this year, and lettuce, which used to be very lanky, has become firm. The cucumbers, […]

Rascals in the forest

A chipmunk clinging to a hanging bird feeder. Giving him too many peanuts isn’t good for him, so I give him a little. Then, he started to get into the bird feeder. I thought this was absolutely impossible, but he is a rascal. He’d stuff the bird seeds into his cheeks and go hide them.

Beautiful Waverley

Still cool mornings every day. Even so, meditation under the blue sky seems to cleanse the mind. I am grateful to live in Waverley surrounded by this beautiful nature.

Halifax Harbour

The last two days have brought summer weather, and the leaves have grown thick all at once as if they had been waiting for it. The 30 km round trip took us along several lakes to the ferry terminal in Dartmouth, where we had a panoramic view of the city of Halifax. There was a […]

Mystical morning to summer-like afternoon

This morning, all around our house was covered with fog and I meditated in a mystical forest. In the afternoon the temperature reached 23°C, the highest this year, and I wore short sleeves for the first time. Sam installed the deck by the water. I wanted to put on my wetsuit and swim, but the […]
