Pride Parade in Halifax

Starting with Halifax’s first Pride March in 1988, where 75 people participated, Pride Week has evolved into a major festival celebrating the city’s diverse community. Now, it attracts over 120,000 participants each summer. This summer, I have marched with the 5th Canadian Division band and Stadacona Band. Sam biked 20 km to come see me. […]

A Delightful Weekend of Surprises and Celebrations

I began my weekend with an early morning yoga session, followed by a trip to DT to pick up a croissant and cake for my birthday celebration. I savored a delightful croissant breakfast by the water and treated myself to some cake later as a snack. Later, I baked a special cake for my friend’s […]

Blooming Colors in a Hollowed Tree Planter

We hollowed out a dead tree that fell during a hurricane last year and used it as a flowerpot. We planted plants that like shade. Then, Sam planted hydrangeas next to the sign. Bright pink and beautiful.

Happy Anniversary

I received a gift for our anniversary, so we went to dine at KEG. We started with calamari as an appetizer. Sam ordered the prime rib steak, and I had the sirloin and lobster combination. We enjoyed everything with a delicious red wine.

Riding the Waves for a Letter

The mailbox is about a kilometer from our house, and Sam usually check it while driving. But since the weather was nice that day, I decided to go by kayak. The blue sky and green trees reflected on the lake, with the sparkling waves, seemed to herald the beginning of an adventure. When I arrived […]

Chip in boots

A chipmunk scurried up to a boot-shaped cup filled with sunflower seeds. After carefully surveying the surroundings to ensure no one was watching, it leapt onto the boot, skillfully hooking its hind legs over the edge. The chipmunk eagerly stuffed its cheeks with the seeds inside, so absorbed in its feast that it seemed to […]

Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo

The Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo is a marching show by military bands and civilian performers. It has taken place annually in Halifax since 1979. This is my third time participating in the Tattoo. One of the things I enjoy is meeting military band musicians who come from other states and countries every year. This […]

A Sunrise Run Along Moncton’s Chocolate River

During my visit to Moncton, NB for the 80th Anniversary of D-Day, I went for a run at 5:30 am. The stunning view of the Peticodiac River, also known as the “Chocolate River,” took my breath away. The sunrise over the river was so beautiful that I had to stop running to fully take in […]
