Unexpected Visitors

Our garden is usually lively with the regular feathered visitors— blue jays, cardinals, chickadees, and mourning doves turning every day into a little party. But this day was different. In the bright light of midday, a deer appeared right in the front yard, calm and unhurried, as if it owned the place.

And then came an even smaller surprise—a tiny creature I’d never seen before. It looked like a shrew, no bigger than a maple leaf, with a mole-like nose, mouse-like paws, and a long tail. Such an unusual little guest!

It’s always delightful to see how many different animals come to visit. The garden feels alive, full of curious energy and unexpected joy.
