Lupines field

On summer weekdays, I drive 22 kilometers each way—about 30 minutes—to band practice. The only saving grace during these long drives is the beautiful lupines blooming along the highway. I wish they could stay in bloom forever.

Discovering the Pink Lady’s Slipper by the Waterside

Suddenly, I came across a Pink Lady’s Slipper, a flower with a shape resembling a pink slipper, growing along the waterside embankment. It’s called Atsumoriso (敦盛草) in Japanese. I’m always happy to make new discoveries like this.

Evening kayak

We went out to the lake in the evening, hoping to catch the sunset. Unfortunately, the sky didn’t cooperate, so we ended up just picking up the mail and heading back. However, the breeze was incredibly refreshing, making the brief trip feel peaceful and rejuvenating.
